At last year’s Nokia World, the Finnish handset maker unveiled Nokia
Music, a free online streaming music service that launched across
Europe. Nokia World kicks off in Helsinki tomorrow, and the company has
announced today that Nokia Music is launching in the US for the Lumia
900 and 710 devices. Owners of these phones will have free access to
Nokia Music and its music library, complete with 150 playlists across
all major music genres, as well as a Pandora-esque feature that lets you
create a playlist based on a particular artist, song, or music
category. Users will also be able to download playlists and stations for
offline listening for those times where a ready data connection isn’t
available.
Best of all, the free service doesn’t include those pesky
advertisements that interrupt the flow of your tunes, which are typical
of free music streaming services. Nokia Music will go live in the
Windows Phone Marketplace today for all Lumia 710 and 900 owners in the
US.
